Is 1 internal antenna for Wifi Mini-PCI enough?

Hello,
I have a notebook with PCMCIA Wifi card. The signal is in the past months very weak so I decided to buy a Mini-PCI card with Atheros 5006XS chipset - Gigabyte GN-WI01HT which should be very good. The Mini-PCI card has MAIN and AUX connections, but in the notebook is only one black internal antenna (I suppose it belongs to MAIN). Will it be a big difference in signal strength? Should I buy another internal antenna to build it into the notebook?
