DVD problems on Averatec 7115

I have a 17 inch averatec that I got a killer deal on the other day, and it will not play dvds smoothly, every 30 to 60 seconds there will be a slight pause in the video, I have no idea what is causing it, I have formated, I put in a new hard drive, I tried an external cd drive. the only thing I can figure is that it is the video drivers, it has a ati 200m in it, but the only driver I have found that will even install is the one on msi's website, since they sell the same machine. any help or drivers would be appriciated

in most cases the laptop will always drag data from teh dvd drive causing lag when watching movies, there are some solutions such as programs that help stop that, also some good ways is to iso the dvd before you play it, and last you should go to the unoffical averatec forum for more help.

Chris, I can't fix your problem, but could you PLEASE send me an image of your Averatec 7115. I also have one and get zero support from Averatec. I need to reimage it to obtain the proper drivers. If you're willing, email me at c0w60y@yahoo.com
