9300 reformat

Well today, after having dell control my 9300 for 1 hour and 30 minutes, hes found that a virus is in so deep he cant even remove it, im getting my reinstall and driver discs and i wanted to know what im looking at, as for partitions.... Any advice is appreciated!!!

It's been awhile since I tossed the HDD my 9300 came with in favor of a 100GB drive, but let's see. I think you'll have at least two partitions on there. Maybe three. A small diagnostics partition, a recovery partition, and the main C: partition. You can keep them or scrap them, especially the waste-of-space recovery partition. Might want to keep the diag partition on there for the hell of it. It's tiny, anyway. Anyway, I'm lazy and generally split my drives into 2 partitions, one for Windows/installed stuff (C and the other for misc files/junk (D. You can resize them later with PartionMagic if you need to.
