Well me and my friend both bought Sager NP 9880's.. and had the same problem. Both are Laptops motherboards blew. This is what sucks.. my friends laptop's MB blew up before his warranty was up.. so he got his fixed for free.. and mine ran out about 3 months ago >< and its going to cost 400+80 = 480.00 dollars to fix. i know it couldn’t be a surge because i have it hooked up to a surge protector, oh well... also i found out now sager supplies a 3 year warranty with purchases of their laptops.
Over all I think this was a manufactures defect and should have had a recall on the NP 9880s mother boards.. since this happened to me and my friend and people on these forms… GG
my question is, should i repair it or not.. i don’t want this to happen another year from now.. and spend another 500 dollars..
IF you know a place where i can find a mother board for less then 400.00 dollars please tell me..
Look for these symptoms
Things my laptop did... when i first got it..
had to power it on then power it off then power it on to start the bios and os
the power unit that plugs into the laptop made sounds..
Should of built a desktop..
Sager sucks… and builds with cheap parts…

“We found power system on mother board was burn out. It may cause by power surge or some thing. The mother board we replace will be lastest version. Because it does support better video card. So it come with bigger power supply.
