Ok, it took me almost 2 years but i'm getting my XPS gen1. Hope 1K was too much for a mint with 9800, anyway... I see that people offer a hard drive caddy. Does this lappy offer a 2nd HD bay or must I take out the optical drive or something?

I have this memory installed in my Inspiron 14R. 6gb (one 2gb & one 4gb). Great performance! I highly recommend Kingston.

Have a link to some info about this caddy? I'd really like to add a 2nd internal drive to my E1705, but I'm not having any luck finding something that slips into the optical drive hole. From pictures of the E1705's optical drive, it looks like the hole may not be big enough for a hard drive.
Thanks in advance!

E1705's are night and day different from the XPS gen 1. The E1705 is NOT compatible with ANY DBay devices for latitude notebooks. No current Inspiron models will accept DBay devices. There are caddies available that'll work in your E1705 but I know not where to find them.

I bought a caddy for my 9300. It also works with my E1705. It does replace the DVD/CD drive. I swap them out as needed. I use it as a secondary drive.
