F3Ja audio issue

Ciao all,

I got some problems with the audio board in this asus notebook: the audio chipset has this hardware id:
HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10ECDEV_0861&SUBSYS_10430000&REV_1003

I've checked in the realtek website and DEV_0861 should stand for and ALC 861 HD audio.
The problem is that the mixer detects an ALC 660 (whose specification are not included in realtek homepage, BTW)... beside (or maybe because!) of this I'm not able to select an 8 speaker configuration (just a 2 speaker one), not able to use the enhanced mixer (RTLCPL.exe) but just a simpler one (RTHDCPL.exe, which has much less options), unable to disable acustic echos for the microphone and, the worst thing, I'm not able to record from the wave stareo mix! I can only select Mic and CD as input source for recording...

(latest realtek driver installed... tried also the stock one or the newest from asus, things remain exactly the same)

Anyone could help me or has more informations about this topic?

Thanks to all in advance

Antonio

Ciao,

yes, of course. I've tried the latest drivers (1.47). Also tried to look for an older driver (such as 1.13), but was not able to find it anyware. BTW your link makes me download the latest version, 1.47, not 1.13...

great link! Thanks!
Unfortunatly I've tried many drivers, and none is working! :-( Those too old recognize an ALC861 but the board does not emit any sound... the newer get an ALC660, with 2 speakers and no recording from the stereo mix (which BTW is not available neigher with the oldest drivers)! :-(
