Satellite dropping characters while typing

Thread Starter
I have a new Toshiba P100 Satellite (2 months old) with one gig of ram.
When in word or Outlook Express, hile typing (even this posting I see ##!# ) characters countinuously are being dropped. To say the lest this is frustrating.
I brought the laptop back to Future Shop where Ibout it and he said it was not a computer problem after getting me to type in a DOS editor where the characters did not drop like in windows.
He seemed to think it was a spyware problem in memory.
I have Norton antivirus and also Lavasoft Ad-Aware installed.

Has anyone run into this problem and is there a fix without doing a re-install from the supplied disk that came with the Computer?

Any help would e great.

What do you mean characters are being dropped? Like you will type "what" and all of a sudden the "a" will drop leaving "wht"? If so you might want to check if your touchpad is off, it may be shifting your cursor back and you type without knowing it, it's happened to me sometimes. You might even have your palm on the pad and not know it. If that for sure isn't it, you should have the re-install option for both word and outlook, re-install and it may work. If you take your computer to a shop, about 90% of the time they will say it is a virus. Especially if they don't know what the problem is. Go to GeeksToGo.Com and post your hi-jack this log. They wil ltell you if you have any sort of a virus.
