I bought my current notebook (Dell M90) from the dell outlet, because it was $1000 cheaper than anywhere else.

ibuypower.com they were one of only 4 stores to carry the model, cyberpower was backordered, voodoo was +$2000 and Mwave +$200

Bought from a local Apple store. It's close, convenient, I like the folks who work there, and there's a Starbucks just down the street; shopping for a new machine while sipping a mocha is a much nicer experience.

i went to office depot with bolt cutters in my coat and walked out with a lenovo n100 diplay model. i chose this store because they are usually understaffed.

PCTorque (when it was in FL).

Why? They had big machines, their service rep Tom was fantastic in the speed of his replies to my questions and most importantly, the legion of gushing fans on the boards told me that they were worth trusting.

why is it that i dont see ebay mentioned here?
they sell so much cheaper than online stores.

am i missing something here?
because i was getting my hopes all high on ebay because of their low prices on new, unopened boxes.

You have to watch out on e-bay sometimes. I very rarely see new up to date stuff going cheap. To me its also worth the extra $50 to have someone that I know stands behind their product.
