My dream machine coming this christmas!

So Im getting my new machine soon and wanted a few opinions! total configuration is $3,348(see sig for specs) and I plan on giving it a full review when it comes, Im a bit nervous cause I hear all these horror stories, but I really want this machine, I even have the picture I want painted on it! (wanted something rather subtle) http://www.decalgirl.com/browse.cfm/4,4589.htm also I wanted to know a bit more about the TV TUner on it, whats your experince with it and how well does it work with Windows MCE? and how exactly does it work? and should I worry about DirectX 10? I really want this notebook to last

also on that 19" SLI laptop, who thinks they shouldve put the full 1080p screen and an HD DVD/Blu-Ray drive as an option? along with dual core! single core seems so ancient now I mean you got SLI, why not add dual core? or would the price be like 3 million?

Nice config! It depends on hpw much you want it too last. If you REALLY want it to laaasssttt, Then wait till some time in Nov. Or Dec. When DirectX 10 is rumored to come out. But other wise that system should last you a few years. (2-3) And if you got the cash might as well max it out.(Except for after market upgrades.) Hope this Helps.

That's a nice rig and I Love the image you want painted on it, that is beautiful. I have had a few issues with my laptop (slow DVD drive, one dead RAM module, but Hypersonic has been good at getting the new hardware. I have the TV tuner on the way (back ordered/drop shipment), but I can't speak to quality or usefulness. As for the 19"laptop, its like an going from a sports car to an SUV, its Huge at first, then you get used to it . Like you, I wanted dual core and DDR2 with mine, but oh well, you get what you can take, the SLI cards are more use in games then the dual core (at this point at least).

Edit: The internal TV Tuner for the AX9 does not work with MCE , if it did, I would have had the OS changed to MCE

So the TV Tuner doesnt work with MCE? thats too bad, looks like Ill have to get it externally, I would get the 19 if it had dual core (for future proofing reasons) and 1920 x whateverthenumberwas WUXGA, can you imagine putting a blu-ray drive on it if it had that? yeeaaahhhhh

If your desire is to go with MCE, then I would definitely double check with sales prior to making the order. They do list two models and as you pointed out, the external USB version is the one listed that supports MCE. So definitely check it out.

That being said - the system you have identified should be very nice. I have been using my CX7 for almost a year and I absolutely love it. I wished I had waited until the Core 2 Duo was released - but at the time of purchase - there was no idea when it was going to be released.

One thing - you will have to change your avatar.

YES! I put the Turion up when I was all for the Acer Ferrari lol, how did you get that avatar Ratmyr? Ive seen a few like that and Id like one of my own, yea Ive been waiting for Core 2 Duo for a long ass time, since I really wanted dual 64 bit and the Turion X2 is lame (512mb L2 compared to Intels 4MB, cmon!) its too bad the TV tuner isnt supported, Id like to use one built in instead of an external unit
