Custom black Z96J offered by GenTech for $85

I see that GenTech is now offering their Z96J with a custom paint job for only $85.

Does anyone know how good this paintjob is? Is it automotive quality like the ones VooDoo and Falcon uses? I've been looking at this laptop for awhile now, but was apprehensive by its looks. But a black one would be pretty sweet. But $85 seems kinda low since most companies charge over $400. Is it any lower quality? Anyone have one and can show some hi-quality pictures?

I was also wondering if the paint rubs off any custom painted laptops around the palm rest areas over time?

My girlfriend bought a W3J from GenTech, and their service was fast and great. I highly recommend that company to anyone. If the Z96J's black paintjob is any good, I'm definately buying from them again.

Thats a new option from what I can tell. I ordered my z96j 10 days ago and it wasn't an option then. Ken might be able to take some high res pics for you but I doubt anyone will have them yet. It does look pretty sweet.

Yes the paintjob is automotive quality, we also have white S96J/Z96J:

Can you do this to my notebook? I have a Z96J and love the look of the gloss black. Is the paint smooth or does it still have the texture look that the case unpainted How easially does this paint scratch?

Yes we can.

The paint is very smooth and it doesn't scratch, it's better than original paint.

Do you mean you want to check the CPU and HD temperature to see if it's not overheating?

CPUZ will tell you what kind of cpu you have, make, model, cores, and speed. Notebook Hardware Control will give you temps and cpu usage.

Back to the topic at hand. Would it still be $85? Whats the turn around time?

I like the white! =) Reminds me of a Sony =P
Would definitely be my choice if I absolutely had to buy a laptop at this moment. My m6n has been moody ... but I'm going to see if it will be good to me for a few more months ... and then maybe go for the V1Jp =D

No, the LCD bezel has different plastic material and it's not smooth surface, the paint won't stay.

Yes, but remember one thing that A7J is Asus Ensemble, it might void the warranty.
