Your 7900GS may not need the extra RPMs as it runs considerably cooler than the 7800GTX cards we're talking about in this thread. Your 7900GS has newer, more efficient architecture with less transistor count on an 80 Nanometer die process. Conversely, the 7800 series is manufactured on a 90 Nanometer die process with many more transistors resulting in a larger chip size requiring more power and cooling requirements. What are your load temps? If your temps are high than you have the same bios fan control problem like I do. If your unit is still under warranty you can scream bloody murder with Dell and they should replace your motherboard and maybe fans.
