What kind of frame rates do you guys with m1710's with a 7900 GTX get? Or if you have an e1705 with a GTX, what kind of frame rates do you get with everything up?

I noticed that the model detail setting is what was slowing it down so much, if that might help, you can try turning everything else up, but model detail like 1/2 or 3/4 up.

I get smooth play on Ultra to High settings 1440x900

If I turn off shadows I can max everything out, even play at 1920x1200. Shadows dont look like they make as much of a difference as in other games. With shadow I have to sacrifice resolution and some settings down to medium. The game is pretty hard on the hardware thats for sure. Im pretty sure it has directx10 stuff in it so it will look even better when vista comes out.

pff....1440x900...noob.

i should have clarified, i meant on the wuxga screen. I get smooth play now with everything up, except the model detail, which stays down 1-2 notches and its fine.

Thanks for your responses guys.

I maxed ALL settings and had no problems on demo. Highest temp I got was 90.

My desktop is getting comparable performance even with a weaker cpu and gpu and of course 1920x1200 resolution. One thing to note though I force AA off.

I maxed out all settings and had no problems with it. Framerates were acceptable. The only time I noticed any problems were the cut scenes - frame rate slowed....but not that noticably, it would just skip a frame occasionally. Also, scrolling really fast across the map would show a small amount of lag.
But, other than that, it plays great I just wish you could zoom out more.

Also, has anyone noticed how jagged some of the graphics are up close? It's especially noticable in the cutscene after captain mckay gets killed. they start with a shot of the marching soldier's shadows on the grass, and the grass is super jagged and aliased. Even with anti-aliasing turned on. Has anyone else noticed this?

What about when you guys hit ALT to change your point of view? Is it still nice and smooth? My cut scenes are nice and smooth, and if i scroll across the map its nice and smooth, but if i hit alt and look around at the scenery it gets all choppy. Any thoughts? CD t2500, 7200 rpm hdd, wuxga, 7900gtx, 2 gig @ 667.
