Mac OSX on my Acer TM2423WXMi ??

hey guys, is it possible to install the new mac osx on acer tm2423WXMi

here are my full specs.


Acer TravelMate 2423WXMi Notebook Intel Celeron M 1.5Ghz 768DDR2 SODIMM Samsung MP0402H 40gb HDD Seagate Momentus 40gb External HDD Mobile Intel 910GML Graphics 68Mb (Shared) 14.1" Widescreen LCD Monitor

the HDD is currently 1 full 40gb partition, ntfs. i know i will have to partition using partion magic or something like that. what does it need to be partitioned as?

will be wanting to dual boot with XP home,

No, the Mac OS will only run on the Apple hardware.

why is it that its being promoted as intel compatable then? that makes no sense at all.

Mac OS is touted to run on Apple's hardware. And Apple is running Intel chips. However, there is a security device that Apple uses so that Mac OS can only be run on its hardware.

i'm not sure if it will install on your notebook model, but i was able to install Mac OSX on my Acer 5672.

check out this thread by KinzaKracker, and this guide by dilnalomo.

you'll be surprised as to how easy it is.

i was looking for that thread and couldnt find it no matter how i searched, thanks so much.
i knew it could be done, thats why i wanted to try it.

Its funny that the group that is doing it also says that it is illegal to provide the software. So there are no legal routes to get OSX

there's a wealth of info on the OS x86 Project Wiki, including installation guides, FAQs, compatible hardware, drivers, etc.

You can always use VMWARE and there install MAC OSX.
