7405 GX: Back in the Saddle

Thread Starter
Anyways i was playing Vice City about 3 weeks ago with boosted memory timings using ATI tool, (Warning dont ever try this, it will damage your card out of nowhere) and the screen got all fuzzy so I shut the game off and turned the timings down, and the screen went back to normal. After I rebooted the screen remained fuzzy and it appeared I had ruined the MR 9600video card, and thus the entire motherboard. Periodically I would turn the notebook back on to see if anything changed, but even the bios screen would be fuzzy and nearly unreadable.

So today i turn it on looking to maybe burn some files off the harddrive using nero and the BIOS screen was still fuzzy and streaks of colors , but after it booted into windows the screen returned to normal! The 7405GX Lives again..

Go Gateway! My new 14" is in the mail, I'm excited - most of the little things that irked me on the 7405gx are fixed on the NX260X (DVD on the left side so it doesn't hit your mouse hand, both ram sticks are in one easy-to-access location underneath the laptop, etc.). The 7405gx is still a beast though, glad yours is still doing well!
