I am new here and hope that someone can help. I have recently bought new HP Pavilion dv8377 ea. I bought the machine preinstalled with XP home (German version). I made recovery DVDs and then reloaded XP Pro (English version) as I am more comfortable with english. For reloading drivers I followed the instructions provided by HP. When I still had XP home (german version) installed, I made a list of Drivers so that I could compare it to later one (after XP Pro english version was installed). I list down the two different sets (related to IDE ATA / ATAPI controller).
Initially (with XP home German version) he saw couple of drivers:
1. Intel (R) 8280 1G (ICH 7 Family) Ultra ATA Storage Controller - 27DF
2. Intel (R) 8280 1GBM SATA AHCI Controller
3. Primary IDE Channel
And now with XP Pro English version he sees:
1. Intel (R) 8280 GBM/GHM (ICH 7 -M Family) Serial ATA Storage Controller 27C4
2. Primary IDE Channel
3. Secondary IDE Channel
Details of my Laptop is:
Intel Core Duo Processor T2400 1.83 GHz, 2 MB L2-Cache
2048 MB DDR2 667 MHz (2 x 1024 MB)
160 GB (2 x 80 GB) EIDE HDD, SATA 5400
More hardware specifications can be read at www.hp.com or you can ask and I will write them here.
Can some confirm me if the new installation is good? Or do I have reload some of the drivers?
