Quality Closed Headphones around $100

Hi everyone, I am a proud owner of the e1705 and am currently in search for a nice pair of closed *isolating* headphones. Now that I'm in college, I need to be able to concentrate on my work even when there are people in my room making noise. I have basically no experience with headphones and have never had any really nice ones. I'm basically looking for versitile headphones that adequatly block out a slightly louder than average speaking volume. I was really planning to dish some money out for the nice Sennheiser 555 or 595's but i realized that both were open headphones which will probably not be able to server my purpose. The only closed headphones that I have found to be worth the money (from reviews) are the AKG K 27i and the Sennheiser HD 280 Pro. Note I have no amp and am not a bass head. Do you guys have any opinions on these or know where I might find some. Are there some other headphones which you feel are worthy of inspection?

Thanks in advance

BTW LOVING THE e1705

In ear isolating head phones are all the craze these days. A few I personally reccomend (I even own these)
Shure E2c, E3c, E4c (With Trippleflange ear buds)

are those in ear headphones as good both at isolating and quality of sound as the large full sized guys?

Better! The whole concept is to drill your ear with a soft tripple layer silicone. This method effectively drowns out outside noise and since the ear buds have near direct contact to the drum you will get excellent sound quality. Although many people worry this can cause hearing loss quicker and it probabaly will if your the type who likes to let rip on your volume to 100%.

Yea, 'cause it's one louder (than 10) On topic, I find sennheiser headphones to be top notch. Some of the higher end headphones are way out of your price range though. I agree with GZS on the Senn HD-280's as they would be one of the best choices in your price range for good closed headphones. I own a pair of open headhones (the Sennheiser HD555's) and they work great, but I like to be able to hear if my wife is calling me or the phone rings etc... which is why I didn't choose the closed ones (plus, wearing closed headphones for extended period of time will cause sweat to occur over/around the ears). D.
