M1210 A/V Camera Quality?

Is it just me or is the integrated Logitech webcam very fuzzy.. has a lot of noise. I have a Logitech Notebooks Pro Quickcam 1.3MP and it has no fuzziness or noise whatsoever. Is anyone else having this problem? I thought the integrated camera would be using the same lens, sensor, and technology as the current Logitech webcams.

taking a guess here...but you did pull off the plastic protector from the lens right?

cant think of anything about the noise though..

Of course, I peeled that off.. even tried to see if there was a second layer cuz the camera was so noisy.

Anyone that has the m1210 w/ AV Package, post some snapshots taken w/ the integrated webcam so I can do some comparing.

There is a light boost function in the camera settings. But bottom line - this camera is no good in a dark room. Outside, it is great though!!

I have trouble with mine also. I never use it and when I do the pictures comes out like crap. I bought the AV package just so I know I get the AUO screen. Camera is useless in my opinion. I have a friend with a macbook its like night and day compared to the m1210. His takes better pictures then my digital even in dark rooms. I believe the macbook camera is by creative but not sure.

Cell phones now have 1.3 megpixel digital cameras..that should tell you what to expect from the a/v package camera..

I just checked it out in the daylight.. it's pretty good. My Logitech Notebooks Pro 1.3 webcam works great even in the dark though. All in all, I'm satisfied with the laptop..

Turn on low level light boost and it clears up the noise dramatically.

I have no trouble with the camera image quality on my M1210 with good light, but if it starts to get dark, Low Light Boost works very well, but slows the frame rate quite a bit (fine for video conferencing though).

I've found as well that there seems to be a quirk with the Low Light Boost option, but I managed to get the option working each time by 1) Going to the Logitech Camera Settings in control panels, 2) Click Driver Settings and go to last page and un-select LLB, 3) OK everything to get out. After this, I found that the LLB option will turn on each time after pressing the capture button and ticking the box in options...

the only reason to get the A/v package is if you will utilize the boradbandaccess from verizon or you want a higher possibility of getting the overrated AUO screen. the camera is a throw-in to that package.

think the 1210 camera sucks in dark rooms because there is no flash.

my macbooks screen goes all white when i take a picture. maybe a "flash mechanism"
