Please post pics, links, reviews of this machine.

I hope they come out with the same model but with a high end video card for it. They say it isn't portable but I would carry it around, just get a bigger bag for it.

CNET Review of the 9800

The same machine as the 9810, just with a weaker set of features... this is the one I have my eye on as well, if only I can find it with a GeForce Go 7950 and a 2.33GHz T7600 chip.... sigh

Anyway, check out the video.. and watch as Michelle Thatcher noticeably struggles to lift the monster

Those cnet/zdnet so-called and self proclaimed, "SENIOR EDITORS" really get on my nerves .

Their reviews are really unintelligent and ambiguous. They make really stupid comments and don't give the viewers any valid informative reviews . You could have a monkey do their job.

kimbrcd, i own an acer 9084, so feel free to ask any questions.

The problem with is that you can't actually get a carrying case for it. I've contacted Acer regarding this and they told me that it is considered to be a desktop replacement model, thus no carrying case created.

a simple and pretty infomative review of the 9800 can be found here:

it also has some good pictures in that review, which is smth a bit difficult to find on this acer model.

Well i went out and bought a 9810 because of a 10% discount from Comp USA. The Graphics are beautifull. The salesman at Comp USA tried to sell me some luggage to carry it in. He also wanted me to get the 2 year extended warranty and it's available from Acer for 99 for 1 year and 199 for 2 years. I now trying to create a restore disk because no one gives Cd's anymore.

Actually anyone with eye on 9810 the suggested retail is 2999.99 but www.compusa.com has it on sale for 2599. You can order and have it shipped or order and pick it up at nearest COMP-USA.

Hmm, 20" laptop? What are you guys using that for? I would rather get a smaller screen laptop and an external 20" LCD screen.

Minimum of cables. And it is portable enough to bring (instead of shipping) to a LAN party. That's how I see it. Not planning to get one though And 1680x1050 looks good on 20" (it's a bit of a strain on 15.4", maybe 17" is best for it).

Something similar from Sager probably can be had for less but that's juas a guess.

The newest Acer with a 20" in the Aspire 9920. It's the same as the 9810 but with a new Graphics card. I don't think it's available in the USA yet.
