Anyone know where the BIOS chip is located in D510? Can it be flashed if the laptop doesnt complete boot or at least boot up to BIOS screen?

Dell Laptops do not have modular BIOS chips like desktop boards. If your system is acting up you could have problems with another component in the system (Memory, drives, USB peripherals) they can cause POST to crawl very slowly. You might also have a problem with the motherboard. adaw's suggestion of removing the CMOS battery might also be a start.

I unlock the Dell Latitude D610 making short in chip with a click of paper. and, if possible. also I have a program that unlocked some dell. but try to do the same tothe dell d510 and the program did not work with the service tag of this model. I'm trying the same as you you get this chip to make the electric shock to the dell d510

Did you try using the guide in post #2 to locate the BIOS chip, then removing it, leaving it out for about 60+ seconds, and re-installing it? Some users recommend rotating it 180 degrees before re-installing so that it can reset itself

cheers ...

From the hints / tips above, all you need is to leave the chip out for a few minutes, then rotate it 180 degrees (according to some) before re-installing it. This should reset the chip to default. No need to play with the pins

cheers ...
