So I am thinking I am going to keep my powerbook for development work and general stuff.. and build a heavy ass desktop replacement for a game machine... that said.

let's make it cheap.. quality but cheap.. weight doesn't matter, dvd doeswn't matter, the only thing that matters is an xga screen and good gpu/cpu...

battery life doesn't matter either.

I am thinking that I can build a machine like this a lot cheaper then i can buy one.. so let's get some ideas and links going please..

where can i find barebones laptops in the us?

Do a search on this forum for this topic. I can't remember who it was, but somebody on this forum did build their own laptop from a barebones case, and made up a webpage w/ pictures on the experience.
