M1210 - Can you use 6-Cell Battery with NVIDIA 7400?...

I'm just wondering if you can use a 6-cell battery instead of the 9-cell if you have the 7400 card?...

Will it let you boot up or does it report you have an incompatible battery?...

I don't really fancy the 9-cell battery jutting out, plus I'll only really play games when connected to AC power.

The 6 cell with the 7400 is NOT an illegal configuration.

For a 12.1" based notebook, it is quite powerful. Also, from looking at several reviews of this machine, it does seem that this video card causes a reduction in battery life that is quite significant.

In any case, I am planning on ordering one as well very soon, and I would prefer the 6-cell option as well at this point.

This case will fit your M1210 with a 6 cell perfectly. It feels very sturdy. It is about the size of a text book, and will slip into a backpack. It also has a removable shoulder strap to be carried messenger bag style, and handles to be carried like a brief case. It is high quality stuff. I love it, I just need a bigger one for my 9 cell
Its a Timbuk2 grip sleeve. It is green (the color is out of production now)

It is the XS size

Oh yeah, $25 shipped to your door

Website says that bag is $50.

(And I just realized after reading another thread that the reason it's $25 is that you're selling yours...)

I have the 6 cell battery in my M1210 with the 7400. Certainly I'll get less battery time than with the 9 cell, but that's regardless of the video card. I have not bothered to test the time since I don't expect to be portable that often (but I wanted the option). From what I've read, I expect at least 2-3 hours.
