m9700 and autoCAD

Thread Starter
Anyone know how well the dual 7900's and the Turion in the m9700 would handle programs like AutoCAD?

Also, I know there are mobile versions of the nVidia Quadro... any chance m9700 users will be able to upgrade to them? What type (I, II, or III) of MXM card are the 7900GS and Quadro cards?

the quadro card are MXM III so as the 7900Gs but the temperture requirements are different, so i dont see a quadro version for the m9700 there is however a MJ12 with the 7700 base system with a quadro 2500m 512mb ive heard this are beast for autocad, and you can have it in aurora flavor with a nice X2 dual core CPU or intel with a 3.6 or so

I run autocad 2006 and viz 2007 on my 9700 just fine.

{Mini thread hijack} Hey, Issac-Link--my 9700 is almost identical to yours--I just got Battlefield 2142, but it crashes to desktop after anywhere from 2-5 minutes of play. Any ideas?

I just saw your post here: http://www.notebookforums.com/showth...highlight=2142
I will try your suggestions.

Try turning off the VoIP feature. That was the problem I was having, I'd play for a minute or so then crash.

Wilco, thanks.

AutoCAD will definately run on the 9700, but when working with large or complex parts, you'll see diminished redraw time.
