Looking for carry case suggestions for the 8600...

I'm looking to buy a good quality and not too expensive carry case/bag for my Inspiron 8600. Would prefer not to have a backpack. Does anyone have a recommendation? Any deals out there? Thanks!

I found a great one at walmart padded with shoulder strap looks like brief case.
28.00 U.S.

I would recommend a Zero Halliburton case (http://www.zerohalliburton.com)...but I don't think Dells are worthy of such a luxurious traveling environment lol

im most likely going to get a samsonite for my i8600

I looked at samsonite at office depot also and noticed that they were both made in china. Same quality but lower price at walmart. Now days you are just buying name only. Probably made in same plant.

I got a great case from Targus. It's called the Blacktop Deluxe Notebook case, model #CBT400. It's a briefcase style and can be bought for as little as $42.00 (www.provantage.com is where I got mine).

I got a kensington pro contour for my 8600. I really like it over the targus made cases.

trager magnum is good for protection. when i had my compaq x1000 it was in the case and fell from the top of our bunk to the floor. no dmg at all. it has a hard cardboard insert on 3 sides for added protection.

sfbags.com makes an EXCELLENT sleeve, but it's kinda pricey.
timbuk2.com was the bag i was going to get until i settled on mysetup which is a jansport messanger bag with trager magnum (w/o hard inserts) as a sleeve.

http://www.all-pelican-cases-4-less....ican_1490.html good all-around cases for laptops or anything. We have one for our Nikon N65 and will be getting one soon for the 8600. Although the pc tray in this will not be big enough you can get without.
Some better specs on the case http://www.pelican.com/cases/cases.html

target.. the other walmart

I just got the expandable computer case from target.

Made by eddie bauer.

Nice looking case.. fits the 8600 like a glove. I had problems finding a non backpack that fit at staples and office depo. This one was a little exspensive... 80 bucks.. but it has a 15 year warrenty and good features, looks very sturdy
