AR Build Quality ?

I am looking for any insight to the materials used in constructing this laptop. I currently have an IBM and it has served me very well over the years. I believe, it has to do with the type of materials used in the construction of the unit, e.g. alloy instead of ABS plastic for case construction.

Can anyboyd give me any input on the construction materials used on the AR 17" laptops? I would hate for that nice LCD to get damaged too quickly.

Alloy lid and underside, plastic LCD bezel and palmrest area. Silver trim that runs the perimeter is plastic, covers on the bottomside for harddrive etc.. are plastic. Decent construction, but from what i've read, not as good as IBM.

It is well built, but not robust, if that is what you mean. But you wouldn't want to carry it around anyway, it's a huge notebook.
