I'm guessing its because he thought you were yelling at him. Why dont you just buy an atheros mini-pci card, or even the dell true mobile series of mini-pci cards. I'm not sure who makes Dell's, but they have worked great in IBM and toshiba Laptops for me and my family.

Typing in all caps doesn't get favorable attention. No one even wants to read a wall of loud text like that.

You can connect to wireless connections with a PCMCIA/express card even with the mini card installed. The Intel card works great, there's some very simple solutions that could solve this whole thing.

Reseating the mini card can do wonders. Open up the back panel of your laptop and locate the small mini card by looking for a chip installed with 2 screws and a black wire connected to it by a gold adapter (this is the antenna).

Lift up on the gold adapter of the antenna carefully removing it from the card. Unscrew the 2 screws and the card will pop up at a 45 degree angle. Take it and blow some compressed air in there and check for any foreign objects and reseat the card installing it at the same 45 degree angle and gently screw it back and reconnect the antenna.

Now try your connection again.

Make sure your router isn't near any metal objects like a metal shelf, table, filing cabinet, or whatever.

Open the Intel PRO/Wireless software, click the Advanced menu and choose Adapter Settings. Set Power Management to Highest or somewhere in the middle if you're worries about battery life. Enable Throughput Enhancement. Set Transmit Power to Highest. Finally, set Roaming Aggressiveness to Lowest.

well i dont know about the card because i completed deleted the intel car and all its drivers and i just installed this usb adapter and there was a manager with it im not sure but on the tray there is a green icon that linksys wireless adapter so is being managed by linksys but the problem that i had before had nothing to do with letting wondows manage th wireless it was the god damn card that kept disconnecting me some people say because of power management of something but i tried everything they said and nothing worked so i took the easiest and fastest way lol no i have no problems ever since i even leave the internet for hours there and the signal is excellent download are almost as fast as my computer in the other room
the only problem is that i cant emulate ps2 with this is to slow the emulation hope someday becomes posible like ps1
