Guys I may have some good news. Nothing to crazy over, but I tried a few things last night after looking through the Nvidia Forums. Here is what I found works best for the 96.85 drivers. I used the Laptopvideo2go.com ( http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/...howtopic=11477 )drivers with the modded INF file. I saved the files to my DESKTOP. Then extratced the files to my Desktop. Overwritting the INF file in the 9865 _vista Folder with the one you need to downloaded. With that done follow these instructions.
Remove the Nvidia Display drivers from Control Panel/Programs. With out restarting.
Now using DriverCleanerPro(http://www.drivercleaner.net/professional.php) remove NVIDIA inputs.
Now restart your computer.
When Booting up press F8 to bring up the startup options menus.
From there start in Low Res mode.
Once your computer is booted it should detect and install a VGA driver. Once this driver is installed. Run the SETUP.exe in the 96.85_vista folder with Run As Administrator. Once this driver is installed restart your computer.
Remember this driver still has a very basic control panel. (So of you might say this is the same as you do with XP. And it basically is.)
After trying this on my 7800GTX I ran Far Cry 1.3. Using Fraps I was able to constantly achieve 40+ FPS on VERY HIGH setting @ 1920X1200. I also nticed now that my Temps in I8Kfangui reached 78C before my MAX temps where around 50-60C. This may not work for everyone but it seemed to work for me. So good luck and I hope it works for you as well. I really wish Nvidia would release a fully functional driver, this is getting down right ridiculus. On my desktop running with an ATi card everything seems to work so much better. With little to no decrease in gaming performance.
Cheers
