Well today i just accidently broke my dvd rom...... so i have some questions on what you guys think i should do.... my warranty just ran out 2 weeks ago... talk about luck...

should I?

1. Spend 280 dollars to extend complete care coverage for a year... wait a month and get dell to replace it.

2. Spend 200 dollars for a new one from dell and get it sent to me.

3. buy one on ebay from this link for 100 dollars??

thanks!

Don't cheat Dell, you're going to ruin it for the rest of us that might genuinely need a system replacement.

Also, you have a fourth option. Buy any one of the drives available on newegg.com for much less than fleabay. The aftermarket drives' faceplates won't quite match the laptop but it's not a real big deal.

I put a Pioneer DVR-K06 into my E1705 and it works great.

Probabaly different manufacturer but both are what they say they are which is a 8x DVD+RW drive its quite obvious which one you need.
