Firstly, Hello guys - I'm a new member of these forums.
I purchased this laptop for a little more than half a year ago for schoolwork and leisure. Recently, around a month ago or so, it started turning itself off on it's own for no reason (the power was just cut off, though it's plugged into an AC socket). I did a little research on the internet and found out that the problem is very likely caused by overheating.
I downloaded a neat little utility called MobileMeter on the web and found out that my CPU had some extreme temperatures during long hours of usage (ACPI temperatures were floating around 70-90 range). It usually hits 90+ when I'm playing a game.
The strange thing is, long hours of usage had never caused any serious problems for my laptop only until recently. I was able to reduce temperatures slightly by raising the back of my laptop with a couple of post-it pad packages, thus assisting air flow from the ventilation fan at the bottom. (I can't figure out what's wrong with Acer for placing the other opening of the ventilation fan at the right side of the system, that's where my mouse is, god.) But is there a permanent solution to this problem?
Another thing - my Bluetooth Support Server and Bluetooth Stack COM service applications have been crashing for no reason. I rarely use Bluetooth and this isn't a big problem for me, but the mysterious crashes after a long period of laptop use is quite queer to me. Again, another solution is appreciated.
Thanks guys.
