m1210 hangs after installing Alcohol 120?

After I install Alcohol 120 on my m1210 it begins to hang on boot up. It gets to the point of showing Windows and the scrolling status bar... But after that the screen goes blank and nothing happens. I have to shutdown by holding down the power or even sometimes pulling out the battery. Then when I turn it on again it asks me to boot normally or safe mode. Booting normally usually just hangs again. But if I go into safe mode there is no problem.

Does anyone else expereience this?

Yes, its a common problem that most of us owners face. Its a compatibilty issue, i cant remeber the name of the file causing it, but i believe all you have to do was downgrade the version of the program (or use a different one)

try this... boot into safe mode, and run system restore for a date prior to your Alcohol 120 installation. restart into normal mode...Good luck.

i've done this and my boot problems are solved... but i would really like to use alcohol 120... hope there is a fix soon...

Daemon tools does not work either.

Uninstall the Quickcam software if you want to use Alcohol 120% or Daemon tools.

You can keep the quickcam drivers and use windows movie maker and XP to take video if you want.

oh so it's only the quickcam software that causes the problem? if i only install the quickcam drivers it is okay?
