I have a ZV6000 with the built in 54g wirelss and bluetooth. Recently I wanted to play some media on another computer on my LAN. It took FOREVER to open the media and when it finally did it would stop and studder. It did not do this before and I have not changed the configuration. As a test I attempted to copy this media file (about 4 megs) across the WLAN to my laptop and it copied erratically. At one point it would say 6 minutes, then down to 2, then up to 8....finally it did copy but not nearly as fast as it should.
I rebooted the router, rebooted the machine, so I took any temporary problem out of the equation.
The latest Broadcom drivers are 6.00A correct? Thats what I am using, as the old version 4 drivers were not stable and would not stay connected to my AP. I temporarily rolled back to the older drivers, but that didnt help, so I went back to version 6.00A (4.40.19). I also tried the lame "repair network" option in XP, no help.
I have installed IE7, but I find it extremely hard to believe that it would cause my wireless to go to crap.
Laptop has remained in the same spot the whole time, both when it was working well and now when its not. I am not aware of any change in the wireless environment.
Any pointers in any direction would be a great help right now, I don't know what to try next.
