whats better--- geforce 6800 ultra or geforce 7800 go?

I have an inspiron 9300 with a 6800 ultra.
I purchased a go 7800 off ebay (meant to get the GTX... my bad).
Is it worth installing this in my 9300? This is definitly going to require at least a small modifictaion to the case (one of the internal screw posts is in the way and will have to be cut down.).
Is the GO 7800 (NOT gtx) a better card? Worth the effort? do I need to upgrade the bios? Should I just put it on ebay and look for a GTX?

Yes, its a better card than 6800U but you can't install a non-gtx 7800 in 9300.

The 6800 by Raw power is better than the 7800 Vanilla (non GTX) go. So you would be going backwards since the only thing you gain is battery life and the ability to use one more AA setting in games. However if you overclock the 7800 You can get equal speeds of the 6800U depends on if your a fan of it.

Is it true that non gtx 7800 will not work in a 9300?
Also... where can I get a picture of a 6800ultra/nonultra?
I'm not sure what I have ... Driver says ultra, but I'm not sure. I puchased my laptop back in may, and got the best video card I could.
How many heat pipes does the 6800u have? ONe or two?

OK-- I think I answered my own question. These are the questions I still have:
1) I have a 6800 go (NON ultra). Is it worth upgrading to an ultra? Do I need a bios change (don't think so).
2) I assume 7800 go (vanilla, NON gtx ) will NOT work in a 9300.. confirmed?
3) IS the GTX worth the $400 its currently selling for?

If you bought the laptop from Dell, its a 6800 vanilla. The Ultra requires a bios mod and the larger power supply, and was not offered as an option for the i9300.

So then:

1) Yes its worth upgrading to a 6800U from a 6800 vanilla. But you might as well go all out and get a 7800gtx (if you can find one) as you still have to do the bios mod and get the 130w PSU.

2) Yes the 7800go vanilla will not work in a 9300. It will fit with some mods, but there is no bios support as of yet.

3) Yes the 7800gtx is worth the price, if your wanting the best your i9300 can handle.

Hmm.. maybe I'll sell the 7800go then, and just go with the GTX.

I mean, if you can find one, and you can afford it. The 7800gtx is a beast still.

Hmm.. or maybe just get the 6800 ultra, and upgrade to the 7800 GTX when the prices go down . . .

Sorry, but i doubt prices will go down - the cards are becoming rare, and as people soak up remaining supply, the price as well can only go up (or at best, hold steady). Might as well get it while you can.
