OK... so after reinstalling XP many times I think i have a solution to the hanging issue...
1st...make a driver disk from dells site.
OK...so install a fresh copy of XP SP2.
next install the lan driver and update XP with the 54 patches it wants.
Then install the sound drivers...followed by most of the rest drivers save the chipset drivers and camera drivers.
After the other drivers are installed, do the chipset one.
Download logitechs software version 10.
Get them from here
Install this software... it will NOT recognize your camera...no biggie.. we will deal with that soon.
Now click the camera software from dell and unzip it to a folder. Just exit on the setup screen that follows.
Go into the device manager and find the "Unknown USB Device". Manually install the drives and point it to the dell camera software location that was made in the previous step.
It will install the camera as an imaging device, NOT a USB device.
I haven't had any issues with booting after this process..
Good Luck and tell me how it goes!
PS- The Alcohol 120 problem seems to be an entire separate issue...
