display questions

Hello,
I am new to this forum so I hope this question has not been asked. I am considering purchasing either the Aurora mALX or the Aurora m9700. I have read a review by CNET and they gave the m9700 a good review accept glare on the screen. I have not read any reviews on the mALX. I know the mALX is a lot more money but it sounds like a sweet notebook. Does the mALX have a glare problem? And is it true about the glare on the m9700? I would like the mALX due to the screen size but then again the price.
Do all of you see a big difference between screen sizes. I have a 17in now is the 19in worth the price.
Any thoughts would be really appreciated.
Thank you in advance
John

I understand they'll be putting a 20.1" screen in the mALX soon.

The m9700 has a "clearview" screen that I think the mALX also has. The problem I've seen with reviews like this occurrs when they try to use the m9700 in daylight or brightly lit areas. The clearview screen has a contrast emphasizing coating on it that makes the colors very vibrant, and helps make the blacks very black, but it has a glossy finish. In normal useage for me it's not a problem, but I did try to use it in the car the other day in bright sun, and it did reflect the surroundings at certain angles.

I use it on my deck all the time, but it's mostly in the shade.

I prefer the glossy screen to the satin finish of most screens personally, looks spectacular. Just be aware if you use your laptop on the beach you'll have to be aware of the sun position.

thats correct, the clearview screen is great for gaming and movie viewing, but if you are to use it on brightly lit areas it may be dificult, depending on the angle of the light, for example here at my office theres alot of flourecent ligth i had to find the perfect location so that the ligth will not affect my office usage *cough*gaming*cough*
