No problem.

Install was easy, no burning discs or anything needed, it just checks your BIOS, confirms, then it reboots you and instead of POSTing, it shows a white update screen.

The fans turn on high, (Never heard them that loud before!) and then it'll just shut off and reboot.

The first POST takes longer than normal, as is expected for the first POST after settings change.

No new settings in the BIOS menu, it keeps all of your old settings and passwords through the upgrade.

WARNING: After updating the BIOS, my center headphone jack stopped working.

A04 installed fine for me. It might just be me, but I think they adjusted the temps for the fans some. They seem to come on a bit less now--which is fine for me. I think she runs pretty cool and doesn't need the fans all the time.

Center/left headphone jack both work for me. I have the Audigy software pack installed if that matters. I am not an audiophile, but music sounds just fine. No better/no worse.

No time to game on the machine yet, so I am not sure about gaming/EAX support. I really never had much trouble after doing the logitech camera hack.

Well, I downgraded the BIOS to A03, and the jack is still dead - so it must be something else.

EDIT: jacks work in Dell Diagnostic utility. Must be a software problem... God damnit.

I have a utility in my control panel .. something like "Sigmatel Audio".

It lets me change what each of the front panel jacks do.

Check that out and see if it helps.

What is the Logitech Camera Hack?

no - I've fooled with that sigmatel audio panel control all day long and I can't get em to work.

I've also found that my Firewire port does not work right. Probems!!

You have NSS installed?

The dell NSS is there right now, yeah.

I just installed my Audigy stuff and re-activated it, and it went back to normal - my center jack works now.
