Sorry, I am a Dell laptop guy, trying to help out a friend. I have his Gateway 7325 notebook and the power/on/off button is broken.

Any thoughts on where I can find dis-assembly information and parts???

Appreciate any and all help.

Thank you - thank you. Exactly what I needed. I have now removed the power panel/lid and need a new one. The power button is broken.

I have PM's spinitch and have checked eBay. Any other suggestions.

Appreciate your help.

i had the same problem and i fixed it myself (see below for how)
gateway isnt much help after 5 calls and about 2 hours on the phone they told me the panel isnt available for disrtibution but they could fix it for $179 i flipped out

another option is some 1 is selling them on ebay google this "Gateway 7000 M520 Keyboard Cover" and u will find that but he wants 70 dollars when for most other laptops that part is like 10 ripoff
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&l...r+&btnG=Search
here is how i fixed it
first as u all know ifu break ur laptop dont blame me this isnt very hard to do
download the PDF of the service manual here
page 28 "replacing the keyboard cover"
http://support.gateway.com/s/Mobile/...ow/8511016.pdf
UNPLUG THE LAPTOP AND REMOVE THE BATTERY!!!
remove the cover and ribbon
unscrew the 3 screw holding the power button board to the power button panel
then release the tab on the long side of the board lift it up and slide it off the other tab
flip over the board
there is a little rubber pad close to the led that is under the power button
peel it off the board and stick it back on the board next to led see here
http://img453.imageshack.us/img453/8862/pcb1mt6.jpg
clip the board back to the panel to test it
hold the board steady and push the button u should feel the switch click
screw the board back on and replace the ribbon and panel u should work at that point
