. . .and they're off! I just sealed the deal on my first Alienware and my first laptop, now I get to see what all the fuss is about.

Indeed, I was holding out for the Vista upgrade coupon and the GPU upgrade was a nice bonus.

Landed: 11/3!

I'm writing this reply on the m5550, and so far, all switches are green. Er, blue, in my case. Everything shipped on time and intact, no obvious physical blemishes or functional problems. I'm still on the installing/patching/tweaking phase of software installation. I'll give details when I've had some more time alone with her. Look for that post in the Reviews and Benchmarks section.
