Does the D/Dock Expansion have a floppy style power connection (the four pin )? I have a Xfi Elite Pro that I would like to recycle and use in there? I believe the power connector is used for the external box.

...you don't need the floppy connector for power on the X-Fi unless you're talking about the front panel part, which of course won't fit in the d-dock anyway. Not exactly sure why it has that connector there, but I've ran mine for a year without it...
Then again, you have an Elite-Pro, which might change things....I'm speaking from experiences with the Fatal1ty and standards...

Oh contraire Mr. Evil.... You can use ANY device that requires a PS power cable. All you have to do is buy one of those neat little power adaptors (wall wart) with the proper end on it. Plug one end to wall, other to device... neat huh?!? I have seen them many times online though I cannot remember off hand where. I am getting the elite pro upgrade for my x-fi and I will be getting one of these to power it if needed.
I bought the M90 and 2 D/docks expansions. Once they come in I will start the mod. I am thinking about making a STEPS (tangent's design) power supply for consistent regulated 12v.
For the record. I clipped the 5v line and it worked fine. With a multimeter in the 5v rail, no power draw. Power is ONLY going through the 12v rail, and then it is only 389mA at the highest draw. Steady draw of about 220mA.

For like $279.00 how much better is the eleite pro over the X-tream Fi music card. I just can't see it mysel as I have the D-Dock with X-tream Fi Music and it is off the hook incrediable performance wize with my Logitech Z-5300 5.1 and can't comprehend that much of a difference between the 2. But then again I never heard the eleite Pro in action. Is it that much better?

Still won't work in the DDock, there's just no room between the end of he PCI compartment and the back end of the card for the power connector. Not without some modification. Most folks here at NBF don't strike me as the D&D (Dremel and Drill) modding type.
