mine does that sometimes, mine occures with my internal speakers when I have the volume up too high. Are you using internal or external speakers? What do you have your sound max and game sound settings on???
I am having this problem too, and I just figured out it was the sound when I was playing bf2142 and I heard something then my screen freezes for a split second. I tried looking for new drivers but I coundn't find anything. So can anyone throw me some hints on how to fix this?
You got your computer fairly quickly, I ordered mine in June, and it took a month to get here, I was pissed. Finally got it and I had a bad hard It kept crashing
Did anyone find a solution to this problem other than a wipe and reload? I can wipe and reload if I need to, but I'd really rather not. I'm not using the Alienware OS - I upgraded to XP Pro using a (legal) copy I had.
My sound clicks, pops, and stutters from time to time, and it interrupts the video, causing brief (1 second or less) lock ups. I've reinstalled the drivers, tried different DirectX settings, everything. This happens frequently in WoW, commonly when playing a sound that hasn't been played in the last 5 minutes.
It's not that predictable. It's more like whenever it plays a sound that hasn't been played before, or in a period of time. Like some kind of lag getting the sound through to the sound card, and the sound card is blocking until it can play the sound.
I'm starting to hear more popping than I did before, not sure what the cause is. The problem seems to be getting worse. Also, my network card randomly disconnects me when playing WoW, and I am forced to reboot before I can reconnect. Pretty dang frustrating.
I am about to wipe and reload with a fresh XP Pro install. If it doesn't fix it, I'll have to fight with Alienware I guess.
