Just got the new Core 2 Duo Macbook Pro - Page 2

"Speculation holds that this limitation will be overcome when the Core 2 Duo (Merom) gets a chipset better suited for its 64-bit capabilities, and with a memory addressing scheme that does not require virtual space for system functions/components between 3 GB and 4 GB. This more apt chipset should show up in the first half of 2007, and holds the moniker Santa Rosa."

Should I wait for the new chipset? I am not desparate to get a new notebook, but when I do i will have a big work load for it (extensive video editing, 2D/3D rendering and CAD work)

I bought my Macbook Pro CD a little over a month ago and now the C2D comes out with the dual layer dvd drive.

Since I did get the Applecare 3 yr warranty would I be able to get a replacement C2D MBP? The superdrive I have now sounds like a jet engine and sounds like its scraping up against something when I put a disc in there.
