Yes, this is true. I got my total to $1601 by adding some $11 piece of software.

The 30% and $50 off are taken off the $1601, then the 12% EPP and 2% DPA is taken off to get to the 1441.

Limited quantity offer – only 3500 systems available for purchase with this coupon code. Limited time offer beginning 10/27/06 6:00 am CT through 11/03/06 6:00 am or after 3500 redemptions (whichever occurs first). ONLINE ONLY: Save 30% on SELECT Inspiron™ notebooks priced at $1299 or more (before tax, fees, shipping & handling)! Offer excludes XPS desktops. This offer is not combinable with other dollars off, percentage off or mail-in rebates. Only one coupon may be applied per cart at checkout. Coupon code expires after first 3500 uses, or when the limited time offer expires, whichever is earlier. Offers subject to change. View details in My Cart. Enter coupon code at checkout to receive this offer.

I assume if the other offers are working (of which there are a few in this case) , we are fine. what about the REBATE for the warranty options.. will they honor it? ($150, $200, depending on the warranty you choose)

Oops duh i found the other website for EPP.
Can i just enter the company i work for or do i have to make sure its on the EPP list

I went to the dell website and spec'd out my laptop but when i go to checkout and enter the coupon code it says that its not eligible. What do i need to do to make this work? I'm just going through the normal Dell webiste right now. i was planning on gettting a c2d 2.0 with the 7900gs so this is a perfect offer for me.

Bah, just got the same thing as you TC for $1850 (Actually, 2.16GHZ 1Gb RAM)....I'm a student but didn't do the EPP thing.....$200 loss isn't that bad since the 30% coupon is killer. I'm selling my i9300 on eBay which should buffer some of the costs.

When they include things like this in the text it usually refers to the generally advertised promotions. Like if you click to customize a 1705 it will show a $331 (or something like it) discount. Then if you apply this coupon code it doesn't add 30% off plus the 300 something dollars, it replaces that offer. On top of this you can get Other discounts that do work, Like the promotional additional $50 off coupon which is specifically designed to be applicable with other coupons and promotions. And like the Mail in rebate that was available on the "silver, gold and platinum" warranty plans. These rebates aren't on the computer per se, they are rebates on the warranties themselves, so they also "stack" on top of the other discounts you apply to the system (at least in this case). But bottom line, is that if you have conflicting discount offers on a system you're ordering then you'll get a message that you can't do that.

Is the Warranty rebate gone now?? It's not showing up anymore... anyone?

My e1705 arrived today! That was quick (ordered Sunday night).

Looks good so far. Rather than reformatting like I have always done in the past, I think I'll try the hack to get the preinstalled Media Center to join my domain. Once Vista comes out, then I'll reformat and start fresh.

Tweaked my build and reordered. This is the ultimate build for the minimum amount of money (currently).

If you dont care to dig through the specs - the short version is:

2.0C2D
Truelife
2 Gig
DVD burner
160GB
Bluetooth
7900GS
3YR warranty + complete care (no rebates)

$1391+tax

Also, called after I ordered and asked to be upgraded to next day shipping and they agreed no problem (I think because I have the 3 yr warranty and CC).

BigTymer, nice, how did u config a system cheaper than what they gave me ? Your's has the same specs +completecare, yet it seems cheaper (pre rebate)
Dont know if this is your case, but some folks do not get charged tax, or if they do, it will be different for each state. I think It used to be no tax unless Dell had a store in your state. We have a store in NC, so I get charged.

The first time I ordered (the original config I posted), that was the best i could do. It seems the next day they changed things a bit, and were giving away the DVD burner free(there was no longer an option for the CD burner). Dell seems to tweek these pages all the time. I just played with the config to squeeze every ounce of value I could. I could have actually gotten this for about $5 less, but that would have been without the bluetooth.

I think the biggest difference is I was able to choose the 3 year warranty straight, without the other crap they add on. This was giving me a $177 saving from the 3 year warranty with the training and other crap I don't need. That made up for the complete care.

I ended up reordering when I figured out that by giving up the 2 gig 667 ram (which I found out was no faster that the 533), which saved me $100, I could get the truelife screen "for free". That and the free DVD burner made me reorder.

Now that the coupon expired, I noticed they tweeked it again so you cannot choose the 3 year straight warranty without having to pay for some sort of virus protection (like $80). When I ordered you could reduce the warranty to the straight 3 year AND choose no virus protection, which I think may have been a mistake. Who knows. All I know is it is a hell of a config for the money.

Also, on the tax, there are very very few states that get free tax these days. CO is not one of them, but our tax is really cheap. So the tax was like $60, which brought mine up to $1450.

wow ordered monday and it shipped yesterday. Maybe I'll have a note on my door this evening and I can go pick it up at FedEx.

Yeah, that coupon (30%) was expired yesterday morning, made me mad b/c it was working the night before. I called Dell and they said it had reached the 7,000 mark. I decided to build an e1705 anyway and just use the $300 coupon, and I built mine up (2GHZ, 7900GS, 1GB RAM, 1440X900 screen, 120gb, BT). When I had it in my cart, I tried the 30% one more time just to see if it may work, and viola! It did! Maybe Dell extended to coupon for more buyers. At any rate, saved $430 instead of jkust $300. Got everything I wanted for $1260 (except for the truelife screen).
well I added the coupon to my account before I ordered my system. When I clicked view details on it, the details actually said the offer expired on 11/3/06, rather than 11/2/06. Since dell promos almost always end at 6:00am (central time) Thursday morning, it made me wonder if someone messed up and accidentally hit 3 rather than 2.
