HP Presario DV9008nr Video drivers

I just bought a new DV9008nr from Best buy and I wanted to tell other DV 9008nr owners that if you want to be satisfied with your laptops video performance then you have to get rid of the drivers supplied by HP and install up to date Nvidia drivers.

you cant get them at: http://laptopvideo2go.com/index.php?drivers

Here is how you install them.

1. Download the driver of your choice
2. download the associated INF file. (This is very important)
3. Run the executable Nvidia file to extract the driver installer package
4. Copy the downlodaded (modified) INF file into the folder where the installer extracted the files to
5. Run setup.exe
6. Reboot

I found a huge difference between the drivers supplied by HP and the updated drivers.

Thanks, I just bought a dv9008nr at Best Buy today. When you say:
you cant get them at: http
you really meant to say, you can get them, didn't you?

On adding second hard drive. Have you done this? The geek said that I would have to get a carrier cage from HP to make a (second) drive fit in the empty bay.

I would like to write the recovery data off to a DVD and recover that space on the hard drive. Got any advice about that?

You are correct you can get the most current drivers at the supplied web site.

Second Harddrive frame - It will cost you about $45.00 to buy the SATA harddrive adaptor frame from HP. New Egg sells the same SATA drive that is in your computer now (ST9100824 AS). I have not done this yet to my laptop so I do not if there are other challenges issues to overcome. For instance, I do not know when you add the second harddrive if the BIOS will then expose other options such as creating a two drive RAID. I know some current HP laptop models that use the same case do come with two harddrives configured as a RAID.

Good luck!

Mike
