DV6000t reformat and clean install not working

Thread Starter
I read all the posts regarding reformatting and installling the OS with essential drivers and progs- I got that part. What I am having trouble with is when I boot off the HP Windows XP CD I purchased ( NOT the recovery discs I made ) it goes directly into recovery mode and installs factory defaults.

I don't get the typical Windows setup options like deleting partitions, creating partitions and reformatting. It automactically starts the recovery process. Am I missing something? I just want a clean OS without the bloatware.

TIA

Just to confirm, and so this thread will be helpful to others..
Please post the complete model number of your unit (as allot of HP's have allot of differant sub-models)

dv6000t xxxxxxx

I assume it's a

dv6000t EZ829AV

Please also post the part number off the disc you are trying to use, plus the wording on that disc. Also post the appox purchase/mfg date... (Comes in handy sometimes.)

It sounds like you have the recovery disc..... The $10 OS I bought for a dv8000t EE944AV Mfg date April 2006 contained ONLY the OS itself, NO bloatware.
