Ok, I wanted to update this review to give some advice on some build quality issues with my HP 9035.
Overall, I am very satisfied with the notebok I purchased from BESTBUY.
I purchased the computer online with in-store pick-up. If you have a BB near you and order online i would
suggest using store pickup. For some reason the sales tax was more with store pickup but i think it is worth it. You should definetely examine your notebook before you take it home.
HP seems to have some build quality issues. So visual examination is important.
I didnt examine my comp. before leaving the store. When I started to really look at it I saw some issues.
One, the speaker cover was skewed to the right a couple of milimeters but was noticeable and took away from the quality. Second, the monitor sat skewed as well. Best buy was nice enough to switch it out even though it was an online order. After looking at the second one the cover was squared as it should be and the monitor was a little better but still sat somewhat crooked. You have to look at the space at the bottom of the screen to see it.
The tech guy at the store said there was no problem with the comp. But I pointed out the problem. They probably could have refused or charged me a restock fee but they didnt. (It was within the 14 days though)
Also, be adviced the screen is a privacy screen so your viewing angle diminishes pretty fast when looking from anywhere from straight on.
Ok Ive had some time to use this computer for about two weeks. DVD playback and quality is xellent! You could see incredible definition in the movie Hollowman.
jpgs look very niceas well.
Im playing Unreal Tournament 2004 directors edition with everything turned up. There is no problem at all.
I know this game is two years old but the play is superb.
Thanks for reading this.
