Hello everybody. New here but have been lurking for a while. There is great info on these forums.
Now to my question. Anybody owns this machine (C2220)? here is a link
I was sold for the N5010. It IS beautiful. But figured i might save around 1000 bucks (which buys me an excellent digital SLR) and get a more portable noetbook. I plan to go 128 mb on the graphics and 1 gig or at leat 768 system memory. Anybody owns this machine (C2220)?
How is the ATI Mobility Radeon IGP340M ?
bit on me ...I am a 3d/fx/photo/ artist. I edit too. Maya, Shake or After Effects, Photoshop etc. I am leaving the hardcore 3d work for my workstation. What i would like to do with this machine, would be Photoshop, Editing (most probably Premiere), some dvd burning with Adobe Encore. And i would surely open up Maya once in a while, to show work updates on freelance projects, play around with ideas, test textues, in fact i would do a little work. Oh, i plan on startin to learn Zbrush while i have free minutes at work, so that might be open on the side of my work linux box
Now, i know about the 3.02 procesor and the higher end graphics card, but i have worked professionally for a long time with far less powerful hardware (i still havent gotten a newer gcard for one of my machines, it uses a geforce mx 400 64 mb, since the price/performance ratio doesnt justfiy upgrading yet), and I DO manage heavy scenes on that
I have been reading up these forums and there is some great advice. Fex i will surely buy from Laptopsinc considering what i hear about their excellent screen policies.
So, is this little lappy worth it ? graphics ? screen most importantly? anything else?
I would appreciate any comment.
