Fujitsu N5010 Guide?

Hi,

Does anyone here have a technical user guide for the N5010?

Because I was thinking about opening it up myself and doing some cleaning and applying more cooling gel on the processor.

I know I have read the other forums about cooling the laptop and I just have one question: How does the Spire Pacific Breeze work on this laptop? Does it cool it down significantly?

Thanks in advance!

It is pretty easy to clean the heat sink compound from the processor. Here is a link to another site it pretty much gives you all the information you'll need. You may also want to download mobilemeter. It is one of the best temperature monitors that I know of. It is also FREE!!! The link for the CPU http://www.i-hacked.com/content/view/129/42/ and here is the link for mobilemeter http://tamaru.homeip.net/~shingo/mob...terreadme1.htm Let me know what your temps are reading. Mine with the cpu idle is around 59 C and I have seen up to 89 C !!!!!!

I'm not sure how long you have had your laptop but I have heard of fujitsu repairing the CPU overheating issue almost 2 years after it was purchased.

I originally had a N3010 and then that laptop had a LCD problem and they were unable to fix it after like 5 times of trying. So then after the 5th time i was pissed because they kept on sending me the laptop back half @$$. So the service lady was like we are going to send you an upgrade to the laptop that you had bought. So that was cool. Now its been like 1.5 years since I have the laptop. From what i saw...the laptop was not brand new but it was in excellent condition, so I didn't not mind that it wasn't new. I guess I can try to call them up and find out. I am just wondering since I didn't purchase it at that time and it was a replacement that they would still do the repair.

I will get you the temperature ratings when i get my laptop back (my sister has it until Dec.). I will keep you posted.

Thanks for the information man!

I just realized that the steps in the link you send me were for a N3010. This one is a little different from the N5010 because it has a volume dial which I am not sure how it is hooked up. But i am going to at least do the compressed air cleaning!

Also I am going to get a external fan to help cool it down by Spire Pacific breeze.
