hey what about the pinmod since dell released the new A04 bios? i am willing to help with testing, i have a 2250 stored somewhere around here, i would not regret dammaging it during the procces. lol

UPDATES DONE INCLUDING A LIST OF OLD 3DMARK 05 SCORES TO USE AS COMPARISON. THOSE TOP SCORES WHERE VERY HARD TO ACHIEVE BY SOME!
I have wanted to try it again since the new BIOS released, I just haven't had the time yet. Maybe this weekend, I may get brave again. However, I did just have the Dell tech there to replace my motherboard... which means I would have to open up the socket pinhole again... bah. A big part of me wants to give it another go, but the sensible part of me says "Just drop the 300 bux on the T7200... lol.

hey krayziepop what driver do you have? i have a xg mobile force one i had to install, i downloaded the dell on and it wouldnt recognize it, big icons and everything?, could this be why im getting artifacts at only 600/750....?
I have been using the stock Dell driver for a while now, since its nice to have the screen shut off when I shut the lid... After I flashed to the GTX bios, of course the system had to do its deal, and redetect it as a GTX. I had to manually go into the display properties to set the resolution and color depth back to normal. Other than that, its all good. Just make sure in ATITool you go into the settings and change the Artifact Scanning preferences to "Use old (more compatible?) scanning method". This should give you a much better idea of your cards limits.

im still upset... shuld i flash my card with your bios?!?! the 7900gtx i mean, i have the 130w psu so i dont think the voltage should be a problem...
Hi flash with 600c800 then booted up and it would find a graphics card under properties and screen resolution went? Any idea's what went wrong ? Had to flash back
post #107 of 1054
but is it safe i mean, has anyone done it before? i dont want to break a 700$ card... if i do it and it doesnt work, how do i go back to 2500m bios!?

try it and tell us how it goes/.... you can go back anytime if you have the bios on hand.

i have flashed it successfully, now everest says its a 7900gtx... cool i guess... i scaned for artifacts at 625/750 and found none, wich is good, then i wen to the 3d view and i got average of 420fps... wtf!! i got 460-480 before and now 420... im on 98% charge i dont know if it has anything to do with it... any ideas!?
i have to say it goes worst in need for speed, i get now like 2-3 more fps, but i get jumpy images, is not fluid like it was before... anyways post what you think im taking an exam in 20 min so i better go to the uni, ttyl.

No joke, everything is working great.
Just updated the bios from gs stock to 550/1250 gsx rom and upped my 3dm06 from 3600 to 4500.

Wow.

System is e1705, t2350 1.73, 2gb 533, 100gb 7200, 90w adapter, 9 cell, wuxga, 256 7900gs to gsx.

I do notice about an rise of 5-7 degrees on the gpu, 2 or 3 more on the hard drive, no chance on the cpu.

I won't mind the 1.24v increase, as most of my time the computer is on my desk, and if I'm out I've got the 9 cell.

**update 2. Just upped the bios to 600/750 (1500), 3dm06 is up to 4800. Unbelievable for a few software upgrades...
However, I am getting a few artifacts. I'll be pulling down to 600/700 for good will

Thanks everyone!
Ben

yeah, these scores are incredible. I never would have guessed that i could pull out over 1500+ points more in 3dmark05 just by flashing it to the gtx, since under the old over-volted gs my card was a bs overclocker. i still need to create some roms to get it up, I'm shooting for 650/880, well see how that goes.
but like kraziepop said, i also don't have the c2d, and i am beginning to think that my 2.16 t2600 is begging to hold me back, so i may never see the 9500 mark, although I'm also going to try to update my cards drivers, and see if that helps improve it. The best i can pull out so far is 9220.

For yolda,
i updated my score for 05

i turned it back down from 750 to 700 so its not 600/700 and i get no artifacts at all, y would i get them at 750? i begining to think ati tool is a bunch of bullshit because i can game just fine with nothing at 800 memory but i get artifacts like crazy on atitool.

sergiop, in NFS (Carbon) I also don't get a smooth gameplay as I did with the GS BIOS. A small increase in FPS isn't worth it; the card runs pretty hot (hitting 90c with fans at full speed).

9861 - centi - T7200 / 1GB 533 / WUXGA / Single / XGM 91.45 / 90W / 675/875 / 1.30v / GTX BIOS

Playing around with δ & latencies. So far I've netted +25 Mhz for max stable core, without any temperature increase (actually max temp is down 1° to 82C).
Also trying out the XG MobileForce 91.45 driver.

Yeah graphics get jumpy with this bios. BF2142 sucks now... though between lags it is silky.... Maybe it is expecting the other 4 pipes? Maybe a latency issue somewhere? Me thinks I am going to download nibtor.

Okay... since some of you may work better with pictures than words, here is a picture of what you need to do in ATITool to make it 'more compatible'.

Follow the directions above, THEN run the artifact scanner. This should make ATITool a little friendlier. If you get artifacts with this selection on, then you need to back it off some to make everything kosher. If you get no artifacts here, you should still do some heavy gaming to verify the final clocking. Good luck guys!

Here is another suggestion for you guys that use I8KFanGUI. Lets say your temps top out at 80C and everything is all good. Click the option in I8K to have manual fan control. Use this to turn your GPU fan off. Now at this temperature the system BIOS will force the fan back on by default. Just hit the Fn+Z every second or so, and the fan will stay off (Fn+Z is the BIOS override for fan control). This may seem a little silly to do, but remember the gfx card wont go past a certain threshold temperature. I had found that my machine didn't artifact at 80C, but if I let it climb to 90C I started getting the yellow dots. Now, I have my clock speeds at 600c800 and its artifact free right up to the threshold temp.

Sure, its not really that exciting, but I found it interesting. lol.

yeah, same with me, i got a top temp of 90... but i guess its ok, after 3 hours non stop playing... now i beat the first boss and before i could save game crashed!! wtf! some need for speed error blah,blah...
