M1710 A03 Bios Unlocked Cpus, Need To Overclock!!!

Ok well i bet you can tell from the thread... i've installed the Ao3 bios but whenever i try to go to the overclock settings it comes up blank, or it keeps the page that i just looked at and displays that. I'm pretty sure if we could somehow enable the bios to show the overclock settings any unlocked core duo should overclock its just Dell doesnt want us getting to those settings.

Anyway? I have an Engineering sample T2500 im pretty sure its unlocked and will overclock. it was overcloked in adesktop board before i bought it. Theirs got to be a way! Maybe unlocking the bios somehow this would be amazing if we can unleash the overclock setings in these notebooks.

We haven't even figured out how to dispel the gpu bios locks yet so I'm not sure how this will go...More power to you though as I imagine many ppl (including me) wish to oc the cpu by any means...
Edit: Curios, was the xps2 bios actually hacked to run on 9300 or was it just a stock xps2 bios flashed to 9300?

I believe it had to be hacked in. The reason I suggest this is, if you try to take a stock 9300 bios (from dell) and flash it to the 9300 after the Gen2 bios has been loaded on it, you get a system mismatch error. At least that's what someone had reported on this forum.

The A03 bios only works with the t7600g, which is unlocked from Intel. Desktops tend to do things differently than portables. I'm sure the bios is lock to only let the "G" class merom processors to OC. The ES sample meroms are speed locked from intel.

exactly thats the problem its set to only show the overclock options when it sees some kind of special tag on the "g" processors.... how to replicate that special tag or unlocker or whatever because we do have unlocked cpus that are capable of being overclocked.

We have an overclockable bios and overclockable cpus the one thing standing in the way is Dell making it only available to the "G" we have to hack the bios to remove this G.

The fact that dell just makes it so when you go to the setting it comes up blank shows that the security was kind of an afterthought, otherwise i figured they wouldve released two seperate bios's or remove the overclock option altogether. But it is there, its just hidden.

I'd have more faith in oc'ing the ES chips after seeing a 7600g version of the 1710 oc first...Right now, the oc'ing features arent even accessible according to snoopyduke even with the 7600g so removing this 'g' tag wouldn't help you...http://www.notebookforums.com/thread179939.html

we just need a inside man to help us out.

Maybe it has something to do with the sSpec number, it's SL9U5 for the T7600G for SURE, and I'm certain it's different for the T7600 think it's SL9SD.
