Here is a batch file to run a DM-Rankin botmatch benchmark.

Instructions: (assuming default install path)
1) Save botmatch-rankin.bat to C:\UT2004Demo\Benchmark\
2) Save botmatchexec.txt to C:\UT2004Demo\Benchmark\Stuff
3) Run the batch file
4) See benchmark.log for results.

here are my results:
27.191425 / 63.202560 / 144.206161 fps -- Score = 63.229637

specs in signature, no oc
omega drivers 4.2, everything in default.

whats yours??

The new Ati 4.3 drivers.
Not bad

interesting, you clocked your vcard right??, yet that was not a ton of performance increase!

are you using the pure catalyst driver or the omega one??

I use a notebook cooler under it, and it REALLY helps, so now I get lower temperatures when overclocked, then I did before with no overclocking.
I have the Bytecc cooler.

It was actually a 13% increase over your score, which is actually not that little, and you must remember that the botmatch make a lot of use of the cpu because og all the bots, so the difference between scores with different graphic cards is much less than with flyby tests which is not that cpu bound.

I use the new Catalyst driver 4.3.

The temperature completely depends on what I do, and which game I play.
Before, when I played the unreal 2004 demo on onslaught with 12 bots, the temperature on the gpu would be around 84-93 celsius on default clocks.
With the cooler it's about 72-82 celsius when gpu is overclocket and about 70-76 celsius when on default clocks.
That's a big change to me!

I bought it on a webshop here in Norway, but I bet you will find a place they sell it where you live.
Just search for "bytecc notebook cooler"

You can turn the fans on or off with a switch back on the unit, and the notebook will still run a little cooler than before, because it gets more air under the unit.

No offense, but that's a huge difference. 71 to 63 frames is an increase of 13%!
Consider that the 9700 mobility is ~ 20% of an increase so you're about 60 percent of the way there.

i was talking about the vcard, but as dennis said "you must remember that the botmatch make a lot of use of the cpu because og all the bots", so his 1.7 Pentium M, has a lot to say to that 13% increase. but yes 13% is quite a lot comming from the same card.

I would guess so.

I picked up the Targus notebook cooler and it's excellent. Really quiet and my Inspiron 8600 1.7Ghz processor sits between 31C and 35C when idling, connected by wifi. Sweet. :-)

I'm just downloading the demo of UT2004 to give others an idea, using the 4.3 Catalysts on default clock. Watch this space..
I got these results, with a default clock:

26.663723 / 65.253967 / 163.272415 fps -- Score = 65.477577 rand[9600]

For some reason, enabling overclocking did nothing. I clocked up to 382/282 and got no difference. Any ideas why?
