B130 Temporary Battery Failure

Hello There!

I got a Dell B130 with an orange blinking light followed by green, which according to Dell is a "temporary battery failure". I noticed this after I upgraded my bios from A08 to A09, so I tried to go back but it won't allow me unless I have a battery with at least 10% charge (and mine is 1% lol).

So, anyone had similar issue before? Is there any way to reset the battery status? I tried to remove it, reset bios, nothing works. Funny thing is that on BIOS battery health it says battery operating properly.

i don't know what to do, does dell have any sort of utility to help me?

Thanks,
Carlos

PS: My warranty expired, the battery is new (like 6 months old), but the note is refurbished (only 90 day warranty).

Please don't tell me to get a new battery

Could be bad coincidence and in situations like this where your out of luck on warranty you may have a chance if you call in and place blame on the BIOS but its likely the battery may have just died by coincidence. See if you can get where ever you got it from to see if they can help you with a replacement.

How did you end up fixing this?>

My B130 does this from time to time too. It usually means the battery has either drained down OR that it got to hot. Typically, if you turn the machine off, unplug it, take the battery out THEN replace the battery, plug it back in and turn it back on the orange light will go away.
