Civilization should be fine, but don't expect most new games to run silky smooth at native res (WSXGA+ is quite high at 1680 x 1050). But to give you an idea, I still game quite happily on my laptop @ 1280 x 800 on just a 9700go.... which is now a couple generations behind. As long as you are not a framerate whore, you will be happy! (and you can always lower the res to 1280 x 800 for example and it will still look good).

ya, i play bf2 at medium settings with zero frame rate issues. i did try to max it out, and it was still playable, but frame rates definately took a hard hit.

Half Life 2 as well as Half Life 2 Ep 1 plays smoothly at 1280x1024 at highest settings, They will average around 47 Fps...FEAR will average around 44 Fps At Medium Settings at same Res.....

Runs great with the latest Catalyst 7.2 Drivers - and if you have Vista 32/64 bit make sure you install the right drivers. It actually won't stop you from installing the XP version for some reason. For those FPS mentioned above... just because you hit those nice resolutions doesn't mean you should. Sometimes I like to go 1024 x 600 (Widescreen) and allow for 4x AA/4x AF. I have a great looking picture and I often have 50-70 FPS. For F.E.A.R. DISABLE SHADOWS. Just suck it up and go to low detail lighting. Thats where most of the performance goes. As far as textures and AA and AF play around and experiment. Civilation 4 runs fine though.
